Overview

SalexFyPOS ("the app," "we," "us") is a point-of-sale app developed and published by Patech Ltd for Android devices, distributed under the package identifier com.patechltd.salexfypos. This policy applies to that app and describes, in full, what data it collects, why it collects it, how long it's kept, who it's shared with, and the choices and controls available to you as a user.

SalexFyPOS is designed as an offline-first shop till: the data it collects exists to run the cart, checkout, pricing, held-sale, and loyalty features described on our home page, and by default that data stays on the device it's entered on. The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly choose to back up to your own Google Drive, described in detail below.

This policy is also linked from within the app itself, in Settings, so you can review it without leaving the app.

Data we collect, and why

The list below covers every category of data SalexFyPOS collects, generates, or accesses, mapped to the specific app feature that requires it. We do not collect any data beyond what's listed here.

  • Product and inventory data — item names, SKUs/barcodes, retail and wholesale prices, and stock quantities you enter or scan. Used to run the cart, checkout, and pricing features.
  • Sale and transaction data — cart contents, quantities, applied prices, payment method, timestamps, and completed or held sale records. Used to process checkouts, resume held sales, and generate receipts.
  • Customer and loyalty data — names, phone numbers, and/or points balances for customers you choose to add for loyalty tracking. This is entered by you, the shop operator, about your own customers; SalexFyPOS does not collect this data independently. Used to calculate and redeem loyalty points.
  • Barcode scans via the camera — the camera is used exclusively to read a barcode's value in real time. No photo or video frame is ever saved, stored, or transmitted; the image is processed on-device and discarded immediately after the barcode is decoded.
  • Bluetooth/printer connection data — the paired device identifier and connection status for a Bluetooth or USB receipt printer, used only to route printed receipts to that printer.
  • Google Drive backup data — if you turn this on, the product, sale, and loyalty data above is written to backup files in your own Google Drive. Full detail is in Google Drive access below.
  • Device and diagnostic data — device model, Android OS version, and app version, sent only if you opt in to crash reporting, used solely to reproduce and fix bugs.

SalexFyPOS does not request or access your contacts, SMS/call log, location, Gmail, calendar, photos, or any Google data beyond the Drive backup files it creates itself. We do not collect advertising identifiers and the app carries no ad SDK.

Android permissions the app requests

  • Camera — required only for barcode scanning. You can deny this and enter items manually; scanning simply won't be available.
  • Bluetooth — required only to connect to a Bluetooth receipt printer. Not required if you don't print receipts or use a USB printer instead.
  • Internet/network — required only when Google Drive backup is enabled, to transmit backup files to your Drive over an encrypted connection. The app functions fully offline with this permission unused.
  • Storage (where applicable by Android version) — used to generate and save exported receipts or reports locally on your device.

Where your data lives

By default, all product, sale, customer, and loyalty data is stored locally in an on-device database. That data is never transmitted to, or stored on, any server operated by Patech Ltd — we do not run a backend that receives your shop's data. If you enable Google Drive backup, the same data is written directly to backup files inside your own Google Drive account, under your control, not ours. See Google Drive access below for the full detail on that feature.

How data is used

  • To run core POS functions: cart, checkout, held sales, pricing, and receipts.
  • To calculate, accrue, and redeem loyalty points for customers you've added.
  • To generate receipts for printing via a connected printer, or for sharing digitally.
  • To back up and restore your shop's data if you enable Google Drive sync.
  • To diagnose crashes and improve app stability, only if you opt in to crash reporting.

We do not use any of this data to build advertising profiles, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond operating and improving the app's own functionality.

Data sharing and disclosure

SalexFyPOS does not share, sell, rent, or trade your shop's data, your customers' loyalty data, or your Google account data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own purposes. We do not transfer or disclose this data to third parties for targeted or personalized advertising, retargeting, reselling, credit or lending decisions, or for training generalized machine-learning or AI models. Data may be disclosed only in narrow circumstances: to a service provider strictly to operate a feature you've enabled (such as Google, for Drive backup you turn on), or if required to comply with a valid legal request, such as a court order.

Data security

Locally stored data is held within the app's private, sandboxed storage area on your device, which other apps cannot access under normal Android security controls. Any transmission to Google Drive (when backup is enabled) uses Google's encrypted OAuth connection and HTTPS in transit. We recommend using your device's own screen lock, since anyone with unlocked access to your device can open any app on it, including SalexFyPOS.

Google Drive access

What we access. SalexFyPOS can connect to your Google account to back up and sync your data. It only accesses the backup files that SalexFyPOS itself creates in your Google Drive — your product catalogue, sale history, held sales, and loyalty records exported by the app. It does not view, edit, or delete any other files in your Drive, and does not access your Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, or Photos.

How we use it. This access is used solely to create backup files, keep your data in sync if you use SalexFyPOS on more than one device, and restore your data if you reinstall the app or set up a new phone.

Who we share it with. Your backup data is stored in your own Google Drive, not on a Patech Ltd server. We do not share, sell, or transfer this data to any third party, and we do not use it for advertising. Access to your Google account happens through Google's standard OAuth sign-in, which you can revoke at any time.

Data protection. The connection to Google Drive uses Google's encrypted OAuth flow. SalexFyPOS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Limited use affirmation. SalexFyPOS's use of data obtained through Google APIs, including Google Drive, is limited to providing or improving the app's own user-facing features described in this policy — namely backup, sync, and restore of your shop data. We do not use Google user data, and do not transfer it to any third party, for targeted, personalized, or interest-based advertising; retargeting; selling to data brokers; providing to information resellers; determining creditworthiness or for lending purposes; or building databases for resale. We do not use Google Workspace API data, including Google Drive data, to develop, improve, or train any generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models, and have no AI/ML features in the app that rely on this data.

Retention and deletion. Backup files remain in your Google Drive until you delete them — either from within SalexFyPOS's backup settings or directly in Google Drive. You can revoke SalexFyPOS's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page; this stops all future access immediately.

Other third-party services

The app may use limited third-party services strictly to operate — for example, a crash-reporting library, or Google Play services required by Android itself. These services process only the technical data necessary for that function and are not used to build advertising profiles.

Your rights and choices

  • Access — all product, sale, customer, and loyalty data is visible to you directly within the app at any time; nothing is hidden in a backend you can't see.
  • Correction — you can edit or correct any product, price, or customer record directly within the app.
  • Deletion — you can clear sale history, held sales, and loyalty records from within the app's settings at any time. Uninstalling the app removes its entire locally stored database from your device.
  • Camera opt-out — you can deny camera permission and enter items manually instead of scanning; the app remains fully usable.
  • Backup deletion — if you've enabled Google Drive backup, you can delete backup files from Google Drive directly, or revoke SalexFyPOS's access from your Google Account permissions page.
  • Data export — you can request an export of your data by contacting us at the email below.

Data retention

Locally stored data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you clear it from within the app's settings. Uninstalling SalexFyPOS permanently deletes its local database along with the app. If Google Drive backup is enabled, backup files persist in your Google Drive until you delete them yourself or disconnect the feature — we do not independently retain a copy anywhere else. Crash and diagnostic reports, if you opt in, are retained only as long as needed to investigate and resolve the issue they relate to.

International data transfers

SalexFyPOS itself does not operate servers, so it does not transfer your data internationally on its own. If you enable Google Drive backup, your data is transmitted to and stored within Google's infrastructure, which may process data in countries other than your own, subject to Google's own data protection safeguards and the Google API Services User Data Policy referenced below.

Children's privacy

SalexFyPOS is a business tool intended for shop owners and staff who operate a point of sale, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and if we become aware that a child's data has been collected without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app's features change, particularly if we add new data collection or a new integration. If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it, and material changes affecting how Google user data is used will be reflected here before they take effect.
